FandomTEAque - Introduction

Fuzzy plushies, holographic stickers, and stacks of pretty idol pictures are packed weekly into this small bubble tea shop in Orange, California.

BobaTEAque hosts a fandom-run event nearly every weekend, and it's fascinating to see what devoted fans can bring to the boba bar.

Most are K-pop cupsleeve events, spiced up with charming themes ranging from holiday celebrations to Shrek's garlicky-scented swamp. Occasionally, event organizers pop up with unexpected idols, such as 4*TOWN from the animated Disney-Pixar movie Turning Red.

Such events host a common scene where fans meet, online shops vend, and bubble tea shops welcome new guests. As a local boba fan, I'm excited to see what new faces get displayed on bobaTEAque's walls.
